LEED-ND Accreditation: Menlyn Maine

Menlyn Maine is a 280,000 m2 mixed-use development located in the Menlyn Commercial Node of Pretoria, South Africa. Menlyn Maine is South Africa’s first development designed according to the green building standards of the LEED-ND accreditation program of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and one of 27 pilots that are currently underway worldwide.
SATPLAN ALPHA managed all data formatting, spatial computations and output mapping for the submission of the Menlyn Maine Precinct Master Plan design to the USGBC for accreditation. GIS was used as an urban design evaluation tool to assess the sustainability of the Menlyn Maine Precinct Master Plan.
