An alternate political geography had Europe not colonised the continent.

While not the boundaries of today’s Nation States, it is likely that many of these regions exist in some form or another as de facto geopolitical elements.

This raises interesting questions for regional and (trans)national planning where cultures, ethnicities and settlement systems extend beyond current national borders.

The inverted south-north map orientation is symbolic of a need to adjust our perspective and understanding of African space.
